CHARLES MACINTOSH

Charles Macintosh was born on the 29th of December 1766 in Glasgow, Scotland. He died on 25th July 1843 in Glasgow, Scotland. He was an engineer and chemist. He married Mary Fisher and had a son named George Macintosh.

When he was a teenager he was a clerk. Later he started studying chemistry and engineering.

He invented the waterproof raincoat by mixing cloth and rubber. It rains a lot in Scotland, so it was very useful.

Nowadays raincoats are used all over the world.
