Stawberry shortcake by Ari and Gloria



INGRDIENTS:                                                                                                          1- 225g (8 oz) self-rasing flour      

2- 1 teaspoon baking powder
3-50g (2 oz) butter or margarine   

4- 25g (1 oz) caster sugar                             

5- 1 medium egg

6- 5 tablespoons milk                                                                                              half a teaspoon of

 vanilla essence extra milk, for brushing.

FOR THE FILLING:
1- 225g (8 oz) stawberries
2- 150ml (1/4 pint) double or whipping cream
3- 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt icing sugar
METHOD:
First, heat the oven to 220 C. Wipe some butter over a baking tray. Put the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.

After, add the butter to the flour and mix.

Then, stir the caster sugar. Break the egg in to the bowl.

Next, stir the milk and vanilla. Mix all the ingredients, make a soft dough.

Leater, shapa the dough in to a ball. Squash the dough a little to make a circle. Bake it in oven for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut the strawberries into slices.

After, slide the cake with a bread kinfe. Spred the yogurt.

Then, lay the stawberry silces and the rest of the yogurt. Put the eight shortcake wedgest on the top.
